Something To Be Thankful For...

I was hit by a drunk driver on the 101 highway exactly one year ago today.

As my car was spinning out of control and eventually slamming into the median wall, I just prayed that no other car would hit me. I would take whatever else happened. What followed was a broken foot and bruises on my shoulder, down my chest, and across my hip bones from the seat belt, which no doubt saved me from worse injury or maybe even death.

I hopped away lucky... thankful... grateful to be alive.

My beloved car, Reggie wasn't so lucky, but he saved my life.

I found out today that a makeup artist that I worked with in New York passed away about a month ago. His name was Todd Homme and he was a finalist on some makeup reality show called Blush. He was only 23 and died in his sleep. No drugs... no alcohol... no health problems.

All of these things just strengthen my belief that life is way too short to worry about things that either don't really matter or that are completely out of  your control. Say how you feel. Do what makes you happy. Take it all in and make as much of a positive impact as possible. Who knows if you'll always have the opportunity

Now for something a little less intense...

Last night was Cara's birthday dinner at Pirate Dinner Adventure. It's basically Medieval Times but with pirates. Amazing. We all dressed up and headed down there. Ashley was nice enough to upload a couple pics for me to loot and pillage.pirate2

PIRATES!
I need to wake up in 3 hours for work so it's bedtime for me. Goodnight my Loves.

Everybody's Leaving LA :(

I've been covering everyone's shifts at work which means I'm working 12 days straight with 1 day off in the middle. I was supposed to go see Kelsea DJ at Spaceland tonight but passed out. Sorry MamaLove. I'll make it up to you!!

This week has been insane. A week ago was Lexy's last night in LA before her flight back to the Big Apple. We gathered Alice and Alexis and hit up Bang!

My dress is a Christmas gift from BabyKeiks (Postlapsaria.com)

I don't even remember which night it was, but there was an art gallery opening, my friend Chris' show at The Scene, and then a karaoke bar all in one night. I got to see a rather larger than I remembered Mr. Belding (Saved by the Bell) belt out Mustang Sally with a ton of girls around him. I made a new friend that night, Amy, and I got to hang out with some old favorites as well.

Amy, Ryan, and Colin at the karaoke bar.

Amy, me, and Bamboo (my panda).

Wednesday was my day off, so I wandered around Sherman Oaks with Alex. We tried this burger place right off of Ventura that was so good. And the people working there were so nice!

Alex and I outside of Ahhs.

That night, I met up with Kelsea, Ryan, Colin, Becca, Rachel, Lauren, and James squared at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood for the Glare of Rockets show. Mariah, Aaron, and Matt were amazing. I think they are getting better and better every time I see them. After they played, Colin and I snuck into the other room (via a very nice security guard and our friend, Becca) to see Metro Station. I was the oldest person there except for Colin, parents, and Billy Ray Cyrus. I heard Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were in there but I didn't see them. I know Metro Station isn't exactly praised for their musical genius but if you stop critiquing and just dance around, they really are a lot of fun.

It was Lauren's last night in town before going on tour with Peachcake (why is everyone leaving?!). I got to experience them for the first time that night after sneaking back into the original room we were in. I was going to post a video or picture of them but honestly, you just have to go see a live show. There are stuffed animals and purple, glitter onesies. Enough said.

Alright, so I already knew I was more productive at night but this is ridiculous. It's 5am and I'm blogging. But while I'm on a roll, I'm going to go grab my guitar and work on music. I promised James a song by February 19th. I'll sleep later.

Introduction

Hi. I'm Kimberly Grace. It is so very nice to meet you!

I've been meaning to start this blog for some time now. But seeing as how procrastination and I are best friends, it just kept getting put off. I'm going to keep up with this though. I promise.

I'm living in Los Angeles now, although I'm considering a move back to the East coast (I'm originally from Manhattan and Coral Springs (Florida).

This blog is going to be used for me to document life in LA, or wherever else I end up while traveling or moving.

That's me modeling a headband for Postlapsaria.com

I need to wake up ridiculously early for work so it's my bed time. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I think it will be the start of a beautiful friendship.
